Coders
Club BBIT
Where curiosity meets code — and students become builders.
The Coders' Club at BBIT (Budge Budge Institute of Technology) is a student-led technical community dedicated to nurturing programming talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and preparing the next generation of engineers for real-world challenges. From beginners writing their first line of code to competitive programmers chasing national rankings — everyone belongs here.
Mission & Vision
What we do
Our Mission
To build a thriving coding culture at BBIT by empowering every student — regardless of their background — with the technical skills, collaborative mindset, and problem-solving ability needed to excel in competitive programming, software development, and beyond.
- Host weekly coding sessions & DSA classes
- Conduct competitive programming coaching
- Drive project-based learning initiatives
- Create a peer-to-peer mentorship ecosystem
Where we're headed
Our Vision
To transform BBIT into a campus where every student is equipped for the demands of the modern tech industry — where innovation is a habit, open-source contributions are the norm, and students graduate not just with degrees, but with portfolios, projects, and confidence.
- Make BBIT students industry-ready from Day 1
- Build a recognised competitive programming culture
- Foster open-source and startup ecosystems
- Connect students with national & global tech communities
What We Do
Six pillars that define how we learn, compete, build, and grow together as a community.
Weekly Coding Sessions
Regular hands-on sessions covering DSA, algorithms, competitive programming, and language fundamentals — open to all skill levels.
Hackathons & Contests
We organise and participate in hackathons, coding olympiads, and inter-college competitions — sharpening skills under real pressure.
Project & Open Source
Students collaborate on real-world projects, contribute to open source, and build portfolios that speak louder than resumes.
Guest Talks & Workshops
Industry professionals, alumni, and domain experts share their journeys and insights in curated talks and practical workshops.
CP Practice & Mock Tests
Structured competitive programming sessions with mock contests, editorial breakdowns, and rating improvement sprints.
Study Circles & Mentorship
Peer-led study groups and senior-junior mentorship programmes that make sure no one is left behind in their learning journey.
How We Started
Every great community has an origin. Here's ours.
2022
The Spark
A small group of passionate 2nd-year students at BBIT recognized a gap — there was no structured community for CS students to learn, compete, or collaborate beyond the classroom. The idea for a Coders' Club was born.
